The Hewu (Hefei Wuhan) Railway, also known as the Hewu Rapid Railway, is a national railway level I double track railway. It starts from Hefei, Anhui in the east and ends in Wuhan, Hubei in the west. It was jointly built by the Ministry of Railways and local governments, with a design speed of 250km/h and a current operating speed of 200km/h. The Hewu Railway Passenger Dedicated Line is an integral part of China's Shanghai Hankou Chengdu Rapid Railway and an important component of the national planned "four vertical and four horizontal" rapid passenger transport network.
